Michigan-based transit projects now have a new source of funding available to them. The Michigan Mobility Funding Platform grew out of the success of the PlanetM Mobility Grants, which helped fund partnerships between companies with cutting edge transportation technology and public sector agencies and local businesses in Michigan. The funding platform has three main areas of focus:
  • Sustainable Futures: Encouraging electric vehicle (EV) adoption and the expansion of EV charging infrastructure
  • Equitable Futures: Increasing access to affordable and reliable transportation options
  • Multimodal Transportation: Modernizing transportation systems by adopting new technologies such as autonomous and connected vehicles
The Michigan Mobility Funding Platform (MMFP) has invested in a variety of projects since its launch in September of last year. Companies who were awarded MMFP grants will deploy technology to help people with disabilities access public transit systems, to test autonomous vehicles at grocery distribution centers, and to experiment with organic waste to fuel farm equipment.

As a TransitTech company, we’re thrilled that the State of Michigan recognizes the potential for new technology to transform transportation systems for the better. If you’re a public transit agency or a transportation company, we would love to partner with you on the next round of MMFP grants. Our technology could help in the following ways:
  • Provide industry-leading on-demand transit software to expand transit access
  • Integrate paratransit, non-emergency medical transportation, and demand response transit software systems
  • Electrify a microtransit transit system by incorporating EVs, charging infrastructure, or electric TransitTech.
Applications for this round of MMFP grants are open through March 31, 2022. If you’re interested in working with us on an MMFP grant application, we’d love to chat! Please reach out to partnerships@ridewithvia.com . If you’re interested but need more time to discuss options before March 31st - don’t fret!
