Remix March 2024: GTFS fares and trip IDs

Hello GTFS Fares

You can now configure and export fare types in Remix and export them to your GTFS. This means that end user services (like Google Maps) can ingest this data to display fares to riders as they plan their routes.

Trip IDs are now stable, unique…and searchable!

Every trip exported from GTFS Publisher now has an ID that is composed of its service period, day of the week, route, pattern, direction and start time. You’ll see IDs that look like this: 

Fall Service-Weekday-57-A-IB-6:15-1234567

Why is this helpful? 

• New format is easier for downstream applications (like CAD/AVL) to consume
• This removes duplicate IDs, giving you cleaner GTFS
• Best of all, you can now copy and paste the trip ID from the exported GTFS back into the Remix Search Bar to view the trip in your timetable. This will help you troubleshoot any issues with your trips
