Via’s rental partners offer a mixed fleet of vehicles that can accommodate wheelchairs, ramps, lifts, and other needs. Additionally, our technology enables riders to select their accessibility preferences, and will automatically match them with the right vehicle.
Rider applications powered by Via are built with high contrast colors to improve legibility and reduce eye strain for the colorblind.
Via’s technology can help partners provide door-to-door pickups and dropoffs for those riders with limited mobility. We can also customize concessions for seniors or those traveling with personal care assistants.
We communicate with riders through a variety of channels — phone, SMS, in-app notifications, and chat — making sure everyone can stay updated on their trips, pickups, and dropoffs.
When pre-scheduling a ride, riders can submit detailed notes for drivers, helping make pickups and dropoffs smoother and more comfortable for those with special needs.
To support blind or low-vision riders, our rider applications support VoiceOver for iOS and TalkBack for Android.

With Via’s technology, partners can offer different payment methods — cash, tickets, vouchers, local transit cards, and more — that allow for riders who prefer cash to have equal access to transportation.
Riders are able to explore the app, check trips, and view prices without having to provide their billing information first.
With Via’s technology, riders are not the only ones who can benefit from accessibility capabilities. Our driver application is equipped to enable drivers with visual and hearing difficulties with a whole set of features that allow them access to drive and earn on our platform.
Drivers can choose to hear turn-by-turn instructions to navigate to their pickups and dropoffs while keeping their eyes on the road.
The driver application is available in dark mode to reduce strain on the eyes and improve readability.
Our app is built with large and high-contrast text and easy to read buttons to help make sure drivers don’t strain to use the app.
Language is not a barrier. Our app is available in more than 20 languages, giving earning opportunities to drivers around the world.
