Aurora, CO launches new microtransit service for adults 60+

December 11, 2025 (AURORA, CO) — Residents ages 60 and older in Aurora now have access to Aurora Rides, a free, on-demand microtransit service within a limited service area and service hours.

The city contracted with Via, in partnership with the Regional Transportation District, for this grant-funded pilot program sponsored by Council Member Angela Lawson. The program provides older adults with transportation to local essential services or a way to connect to the greater metropolitan transit system.

To book a free ride within the designated service zone, call 720.881.0197 or download the Aurora Rides app from the app store on Apple or Android devices and follow the simple steps to sign up for an account and book a ride.

The designated service zone is generally west of Interstate 225 to the western Aurora boundary but also includes Heather Gardens. The service area map is available on the app or online at City.RideWithVia.com/Aurora, along with more information.
