Via commits to seamless transition for Clevershuttle services
We are dismayed by the news that Clevershuttle – widely recognized as a growing and successful provider of on-demand operations – will cease to operate in Germany, following actions by the Deutsche Bahn to push the company into insolvency.

The victims of this situation are the drivers and employees of Clevershuttle, as well as their customers, who are among the innovators in public transport. “We are in active discussions with Clevershuttle’s customers to evaluate how their services can be transitioned seamlessly to the Via platform, ensuring no interruption in services and – most importantly – continued employment for drivers and operational staff,” said Chris Snyder, Via’s European CEO.
As the market leader in on-demand technology and operations, Via has over a decade of experience operating on-demand services and today directly operates more than 60 services worldwide. This includes a long history of successful operations in Germany, from the BerlKönig in Berlin to Region Hannover's sprinti.
On-demand services increasingly play a critical role in delivering essential mobility services in dozens of cities across Germany. The growth of on-demand public transportation is key to reducing our reliance on private cars by shifting to environmentally-friendly and attractive modes of transit.
