Jersey City Mayor Fulop launches free Citymapper app to streamline and customize public transportation in one of the nation’s busiest transit hubs
The City's decision to invest in a customized "Citymapper Jersey City" app version will empower locals to use transit with a new level of ease and convenience
August 9, 2023 (JERSEY CITY, NJ) – Mayor Steven M. Fulop joins the Division of Transportation to launch Citymapper JC, a free app integrating all Jersey City transit services in one location to help residents and visitors use public transportation in and around Jersey City with confidence and ease. Customized for Jersey City travelers, the app provides information on local schedules, stations, and stops for all bus, PATH, rail, ferry, subway, and Via Jersey City rides with routes prioritized by local users’ preferences, including arrival times, shortest walking distance, cost, trip time, and more.

Today’s announcement is part of the Fulop Administration’s commitment to expand access to opportunities for its residents and build safer streets. - Customizable trips: Users can visualize all journey options and choose based on what is most important to them – such as speed, fewer transfers, less walking, or cost.
- Bus tracker: Users will see the live location of their bus in real time.
- Avoid disruptions: Users are automatically re-routed around disruptions, and receive real-time updates and alerts based on street closures, traffic, and service delays.
- Safer biking: Cyclists have the ability to use turn-by-turn audio directions and choose quieter streets for their journey.
