Microtransit can mean many things — flexible transit, on-demand transportation, demand-responsive transit, mobility on-demand, app-enabled transportation service — and, recently, rural areas in the US are using microtransit to expand mobility options for their residents. Take Wilson, North Carolina, for instance, where a successful pilot program is using some light-touch tech to bring greater equity and convenience to the local community.
