In January of 2020, when George Floyd was still alive, before the pandemic struck and our transportation systems were saved by the majority Black and Brown essential workers who continued to risk their lives to perform their jobs, Remix, TransForm and Elemental Excelerator joined forces to ask: what role can transportation planning software play to move the needle on equity across Remix’s 350+ transit agency and DOT customers? This project brief is the culmination of dozens of DOTs, equity advocates and technologists from across the globe working to answer this question and build tools that move us towards a more equitable world.
