The bottom line.

In late 2020, Cutler Bay sought a unique solution for car-free mobility: partnering with Miami-Dade County and Via to launch an extension of the County's MetroConnect service to better link residents to jobs and transit. The service zone has achieved an impressive cost-per-trip of $10, just below the average cost to run fixed-route buses in the County.

For a city like Cutler Bay, joining an established microtransit program made it possible to launch a community amenity at a comparable cost to traditional public transit. Robust on-the-ground operations and best-in-class software powers a service that improves quality of life by offering reliable, car-free connections to local attractions as well as the broader transit network. Via directly manages the service on the City’s behalf, ensuring the service evolves to match evolving community priorities.

It is a wonderful asset to our community. Creates jobs and lessens traffic.
