Night-time workers often face significant challenges in accessing reliable and safe transportation. The LIFE MOONSET project aims to fill this gap with an on-demand shared mobility solution, ensuring that these vital members of our communities have dependable ways to travel to and from their jobs.
The project also seeks to reduce congestion and pollution, promote sustainable transportation behaviors across Europe, and improve transportation efficiency. Via, alongside local partners Wiener Linien, ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal, and Municipal Transport Ruse, as well as the University of Innsbruck with the Centre for Mobility Change and Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa (TML), will play a crucial role in bringing these solutions to fruition. The services will be powered by Via’s on-demand transportation platform. The Via Strategies team has created the initial service design and is conducting an environmental impact evaluation.
The first pilot projects are slated to go live this year, marking a significant step forward in tackling similar challenges observed globally. We are honored to contribute to an effort that champions equitable access to transportation and climate action in Europe.
