July 6, 2022 (Summit County, UT) — High Valley Transit (HVT), the Wasatch Back’s regional, public transit provider, is celebrating its one-year anniversary.
Since launching last spring, HVT has provided more than 700,000 free rides to the community — a testament to its success in expanding access to flexible, convenient mobility for Summit County residents, visitors, and workers.
HVT's on-demand shared ride service, Micro, has been proven to serve both leisure and essential use cases, with some of the most popular destinations including Kimball Junction, Woodward Park City, Newpark and Redstone, and local world class resorts. Today, Micro serves around 18,000 rides per month during peak season, and allows anyone within the service zone to book an on-demand shared ride at a moment’s notice through an app or by calling a phone number. Service is available seven days a week from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Micro is powered by Via, the global leader in TransitTech. Via’s intelligent algorithms create quick and efficient trips by matching multiple passengers heading in the same direction together into a single vehicle. It then directs them to a “virtual bus stop” within a short walking distance, allowing riders to enjoy quick, efficient shared trips.
